Authorities in Brazil have reported 30 deaths and 39 missing persons due to severe flooding and landslides in the Minas Gerais region. Torrential rains have caused a river to overflow, turning the streets into violent currents of water.

Firefighters have rescued over 200 people, but searches continue for the missing, especially in the towns of Juiz de Fora and Uba, where the most severe damage occurred. The mayor of Juiz de Fora declared a state of emergency, emphasizing that the city recorded the highest rainfall in history, with 584 millimeters of rain in February. The situation has led to the evacuation of approximately 3,000 people, and authorities have suspended classes in municipal schools.
