A large fire broke out on the western shore of Lake Garda, causing panic among locals and tourists.
Firefighters, civil protection teams, forest carabinieri, and volunteers are working intensively to control the flames, under the coordination of the mayor of Tignale, Daniele Bonassi, who described the scenes as "horrifying."
The fire could not be extinguished due to strong winds, with speeds of up to 40 km/h, which rapidly change the direction of the fire, and the severe drought in recent weeks has left the vegetation dry and vulnerable.
On Saturday morning, two Canadair planes were mobilized to help extinguish the fire, and authorities evacuated 200 people from the "La Forca" tourist complex.
So far, no casualties have been reported, and the cause of the fire remains unknown.
