Devastating fire in Norway: over 100 homes destroyed

A large fire devastated an area near the city of Drammen, located about 50 kilometers west of Oslo, Norway, on Friday.

The flames spread rapidly due to strong winds, destroying over 100 homes and severely affecting a neighborhood of uninhabited houses. Hundreds of people were evacuated from their homes, but authorities confirmed that no casualties or missing persons have been reported so far.

Over 60 firefighters were mobilized to extinguish the fire, supported by helicopters that dropped water on the hotspots. The fire continued to spread towards the nearby forest. Authorities have not yet determined the cause of the fire and are continuing their investigations, while witnesses reported hearing several explosions in the area.
