In the second semester, Denmark will open negotiations with Ukraine and Moldova on EU integration, according to Minister Marie Bjerre. Hungary is opposed to this, but Denmark will press to lift its veto. Bjerre emphasizes the importance of EU enlargement for security and stability, noting that Europe will pay a higher price if enlargement does not proceed. Denmark will also seek solutions for managing illegal migration, ensuring that international rules protect European citizens.
