Myint Swe died on Thursday in a military hospital in Naypyitaw, aged 74. He had become interim president in February 2021 after the military seized power, but stopped holding office due to health problems. He suffered from neurological disorders that affected his daily activities. The funeral will be organized at state level, but the date has not been announced.
