The Dalai Lama received his first Grammy Award on Sunday for the audiobook "Meditations." The Tibetan leader expressed gratitude and humility for the honor.

The Dalai Lama, the spiritual leader of the Tibetans, was awarded his first Grammy Award at the 68th edition of the awards, held in Los Angeles, for his audio book "Meditations: The Reflections of His Holiness the Dalai Lama." At the age of 90 and living in exile in India, the Dalai Lama stated that he receives this distinction with gratitude and humility, considering it a recognition of universal responsibility. The book was produced in collaboration with pop singer Maggie Rogers and composer Rufus Wainwright, who accepted the award on his behalf.

The Dalai Lama fled Tibet in 1959, fearing for his life, and has since been a symbol of Tibet's freedom, in contrast to China's position. Although he relinquished his political role in 2011, he continues to be an important voice for peace and compassion.
