A Google report highlights that some companies in the defense industry are direct targets of cyber espionage supported by hostile states, particularly located in the European Union and the USA. The attacks target not only the companies' systems but also the personal devices of employees, complicating the detection of threats. Hackers, especially those affiliated with Russia, have cloned websites of defense contractors and have carried out customized attacks against Ukrainian military personnel. Additionally, groups from North Korea and Iran have used false recruitment tactics to obtain sensitive data. Ukrainian authorities have reported a significant increase in cyber incidents, and expert Ilona Khmeleva has warned that foreign employees involved in projects related to Ukraine are also becoming targets. This issue has evolved into a transnational security threat.
