Cristina Kirchner has been sentenced to six years in prison and life ineligibility for fraud in the administration of public funds. Although she is under house arrest, the court ruled that she and the other convicted men must jointly pay almost 685 billion pesos. Kirchner has denounced political and judicial persecution and has been implicated in several corruption scandals.
