In Sicily, police uncovered a corruption ring in a Trapani cemetery where a gravedigger controlled burials and exhumations, forcing citizens to pay large sums for quick services. The gravedigger would return the graves, assessing the condition of the bodies as he saw fit, and investigations uncovered 25 crimes, including corruption and robbery, involving morticians and a coroner who facilitated the illegal activities.
