An Austrian organization for the protection of private life, NOYB, has filed a complaint with the supervisory authority in Austria against the LinkedIn network, accusing the platform of using and "commercializing" users' personal data without clear consent. The NGO argues that users do not receive complete and free access to their own data, sometimes being forced to pay for detailed information about their account activity.

The complaint was filed on behalf of a user who requested access to their data, and the organization is also calling for the company to be sanctioned, arguing that its practices may violate European data protection rules (GDPR).

NOYB states that the way LinkedIn manages data raises issues of transparency and legality, in the context of the increasingly intense debates in the EU regarding privacy on digital platforms.
