Company X criticized the European Union's decision to impose a fine, stating that it was the result of an incomplete investigation and serious procedural errors. The company claims that the interpretation of obligations under the Digital Services Act (DSA) was forced and that the right to defense was violated.
The fine, imposed in December, represents the first sanction under the DSA and reflects the escalation of tensions between the EU and the US in regulating technology companies. It was imposed for failing to meet transparency requirements and for a verification system deemed illegal.
Following this decision, three lawsuits were filed in the Court of Justice of the European Union, including one by Elon Musk. Company X believes that this case could set important precedents for the enforcement of the DSA and the protection of fundamental rights.
