The European Commission has announced that France, Spain, Italy, Denmark, Greece and Spain will implement a common model for a child age verification app as part of efforts to protect young children online. The app will follow the technical specifications of the European Digital Identity Wallet. This initiative addresses concerns about the negative impact of social networking on children's mental health. The Commission has also published guidelines for online platforms, requiring them to protect minors from harmful content and to ensure transparency in the functioning of algorithms.
