China has implemented an official digital identification system for humanoid robots, coordinated by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Innovation Center for Humanoid Robots in Hubei.

Each robot receives a unique 29-character code, which includes information about the country of origin, manufacturer, and model. The system allows not only identification but also monitoring of the robot's status, including battery level and history of technical interventions.

This initiative comes against the backdrop of an aging population and a reduction in the available workforce, promoting the integration of artificial intelligence in various fields. Chinese companies are already developing robots for use in factories and homes, and a domestic robot could be available on the market by 2027.

However, Western experts are skeptical about achieving these goals, highlighting the challenges of the domestic environment. The introduction of the identification system has raised concerns about data protection, considering the monitoring capabilities of the robots.

Chinese authorities believe that developing a legal and technical infrastructure is essential for the widespread adoption of humanoid robots.
