China has announced sanctions against 20 American defense companies, including Boeing and Northrop Grumman, as well as ten of their executives, in response to arms deliveries to Taiwan. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Beijing confirmed that the sanctions take immediate effect, freezing the assets of the companies and prohibiting business with them. Additionally, the sanctioned individuals will not be able to enter China. The ministry emphasized that Taiwan is a central issue for China's fundamental interests. The sanctions come in the context of the U.S. approving an arms sale to Taiwan worth $11.1 billion, which includes missile systems and drones.
