China has announced it would deploy peacekeepers to Ukraine, but only with a UN mandate, amid its close alliance with Russia. Recent talks have focused on security guarantees for Ukraine, which accuses Russia of repeated violations. China's announcement sparked mixed reactions, with some fearing a pro-Russian stance from Beijing. Some 10 European allies have signaled their willingness to send troops, while the US offers other security guarantees.
