Charles Michel, former president of the European Council, stated to Euronews that Mark Rutte's approach, the head of NATO, towards the American president is disappointing and risks leading to a "total failure." Michel believes that Rutte should stop being perceived as an "American agent" and focus on strengthening NATO unity in the face of threats from the United States. He emphasized that Rutte's linguistic diplomacy will not work and called for a stronger voice in defense of European interests.
Michel also addressed the topic of negotiations for a peace agreement in Ukraine, arguing that European leaders should be present at the negotiating table, considering that European interests are not represented by the US or Russia. He also stated that Ukraine's integration into the EU by 2027 is an achievable goal.
