This represents the largest decline in the last ten months, following a decrease of 0.8% in October. The Secretary General of CPCA, Cui Dongshu, called this decline "abnormal," considering that the last months of the year are usually strong for sales. Electric and hybrid vehicles accounted for 58.9% of total sales, and the reduction of government subsidies has affected consumer sentiment.

Although CPCA forecasts a 5% increase in sales by 2025, analysts estimate stagnation in 2026 due to intense competition. In this context, Beijing has removed electric vehicles from the list of strategic industries, signaling challenges for the sector. China's auto exports rose by 52.4% in November, with most of the increase expected from electric and hybrid vehicles.
