Prime Minister Mark Carney said he was disappointed by Donald Trump's executive order increasing tariffs on Canadian goods from 25% to 35%. The measure, linked to fentanyl smuggling, affects the lumber, steel, aluminum and auto industries. Carney pledged measures to protect Canadian jobs, including encouraging local products and diversifying export markets, noting that the Canadian government will continue trade negotiations with the US.
