The Bushehr nuclear power plant in southern Iran was hit by a projectile on Tuesday evening, according to an announcement from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). Following the incident, no damage to the plant's infrastructure or injuries among the staff were reported. The IAEA was informed by Iranian authorities about the attack, and Director General Rafael Grossi emphasized the importance of restraint during conflicts to prevent the risks of nuclear accidents. The Bushehr plant is the only operational nuclear facility in Iran, with a production capacity of 1,000 megawatts, which represents only a portion of the country's electricity needs.
