The Bulgarian Minister of Defense, Dimitar Stoianov, announced that the request for information regarding the Ukrainian drone that crashed in Bulgaria has remained unanswered, despite a meeting between the head of Bulgarian diplomacy, Velislava Petrova, and the Ukrainian ambassador, Olesia Ilașciuk. The drone entered Bulgarian airspace on Saturday and exploded about a hundred meters inside the country, without causing casualties.

Preliminary analyses suggest that it was a Maya-type drone used by the Ukrainian armed forces. Stoianov requested a new meeting with the military attaché of Ukraine to obtain additional information, emphasizing that the Ministry of Interior has not confirmed the presence of explosives on board the drone. He mentioned that the drone entered Bulgaria from Romania, and Bulgarian authorities sent images to Romania for confirmation. Stoianov added that detecting drones at low altitudes is difficult and that the Bulgarian Ministry of Defense is discussing the acquisition of additional systems to counter them.
