A building with nine floors under construction, located in the north of Manila, collapsed on the night from Saturday to Sunday, and 19 people are reported missing, according to statements from officials to AFP.
The disaster management services from Angeles City were alerted around 03:00 AM local time and immediately began rescue operations. The spokesperson for the mayor's office, Jay Pelayo, mentioned that both the building and the scaffolding collapsed, trapping workers who were on site. Although 24 people have been rescued from the rubble, including two from an affected hotel, the fate of the 19 workers remains uncertain. So far, no deaths have been reported, and the rescued individuals are in stable condition. Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the collapse.
