The new British Prime Minister, Andy Burnham, will visit Kyiv on Monday, marking his first international trip since taking office, on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of Ukraine's independence, according to a statement from Downing Street.
On this occasion, Burnham will announce that the British government has approved the sharing of classified information about the Scalp cruise missile, a variant of the Storm Shadow missile, to support its assembly in Ukraine. Burnham will co-chair the first meeting of the Coalition of Will, which brings together countries supporting Ukraine, held in a hybrid format.
The British Prime Minister reaffirmed the unwavering support of the United Kingdom for Ukraine, emphasizing the commitment to stand by the Ukrainian people. This visit follows the recent meeting with President Zelensky in London, where discussions were held about sharing British technology to counter Russian threats.
