In India, future brides and grooms are looking for quick solutions to lose weight before the wedding day, thus becoming a new target for weight loss medications. The Klarity Skin Clinic wellness clinic in New Delhi has launched a package called 'Mounjaro Bride', integrating weight loss injections into pre-wedding transformation packages, which previously focused on skin and hair treatments. In a video on social media, the clinic promotes 'guided nutrition, Mounjaro, and smart training' to prepare brides for the big event. Eight doctors interviewed by Reuters confirmed an increase in requests from brides, but also from grooms, for the use of weight loss medications. Mounjaro, produced by Eli Lilly, has become more sought after than its rival Wegovy, considering that over 20% of requests for anti-obesity injections come from future brides. However, doctors emphasize that the prescription of these medications is done only based on medical eligibility, not for cosmetic use.
