In November, Belarus will deploy Russian missiles Oreshnik, according to the TASS news agency. The spokesperson for President Alexander Lukashenko, Natalia Eismont, announced that preparations for the deployment are nearly complete. Lukashenko stated that these missiles represent a reaction to the "Western escalation." The hypersonic Oreshnik missiles, with a medium range, have been previously used by Russia in the conflict with Ukraine. Russian leader Vladimir Putin claimed that these weapons are impossible to intercept and have a destructive capacity similar to that of nuclear weapons, although Western experts contest these claims. The deployment of the missiles is part of the Russian-Belarusian military exercises from September.
