An ATR 42-500 aircraft of Indonesia Air Transport has disappeared from radar during a flight from Yogyakarta to Makassar, carrying eight crew members and three passengers from the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries. The plane was requested to correct its alignment for landing, and its last position was in the Leang-Leang area of Maros. On Sunday morning, a military helicopter spotted a piece of the aircraft in a forested area on the slopes of Mount Bulusaraung. Rescuers have recovered larger fragments of the fuselage and tail, which has significantly narrowed the search area and provided clues for finding the victims. Rescue teams continue operations despite difficult weather conditions.
