A man was arrested after a vehicle struck several pedestrians in the city center of Derby, England, causing serious injuries to some individuals.

The incident occurred on Saturday evening, around 9:30 PM, on Friar Gate, involving a black Suzuki Swift. Derbyshire police responded quickly, stopping the suspect vehicle and arresting the driver, who is approximately 30 years old.

Authorities closed the affected area and urged citizens to avoid the area, assuring them that there is no ongoing risk to the public.

Witnesses reported moments of panic, and MP Catherine Atkinson expressed her shock at the incident, urging the public to cooperate with the police and provide relevant information.
