Armed confrontations between Afghan Taliban and the Pakistani army continued on Wednesday, marking the tenth day of hostilities, with artillery duels and direct fighting on the border between the two countries. Despite the intensification of the conflict, the Afghan capital, Kabul, experienced a relatively calm night after tense days.

The Afghan Ministry of Defense announced the capture of seven outposts of the Pakistani army, while Pakistan declared that it had eliminated 482 Taliban fighters.

The casualty figures are controversial, with UNAMA reporting 146 civilian casualties, but blockages in conflict areas hinder the assessment of the situation. The conflict began on February 22, when Pakistani attacks targeted bases of the Tehrik-e Taliban Pakistan (TTP) group, and Pakistan accuses Afghanistan of harboring the TTP, a charge denied by the Taliban.
