In 2024, an Argentine judge issued an arrest warrant for Maduro, considering Argentina's universal jurisdiction in such cases. NGOs representing Venezuelan claimants are now calling for Maduro's immediate extradition. Argentine justice has identified a systematic plan of repression and violence in Venezuela, issuing arrest warrants also for Minister Diosdado Cabello. Argentina has previously dealt with cases of crimes against humanity, demonstrating its commitment to international justice.
