American sanctions against the Serbian company NIS, the main supplier of oil and gas in Serbia, have been postponed by a week, according to the announcement by President Aleksandar Vucic. NIS, which operates the only refinery in the country, has benefited from repeated postponements since the introduction of sanctions in January. Vucic mentioned that the government will make new proposals in negotiations with American authorities, emphasizing that the sanctions will affect the Serbian economy, but assured that there will be no interruptions in energy supply.
