An American nuclear submarine has secretly arrived in Gibraltar

The Pentagon announced the arrival of an American nuclear submarine in Gibraltar, a British territory in the southern Iberian Peninsula.

The Sixth Fleet of the US Navy emphasized that this visit to the port of Gibraltar reflects the capacity, flexibility, and ongoing commitment of the US to its NATO allies. So far, there is no information about a possible connection between the submarine's stopover and Iran's response to the US proposal to end the conflict in the Middle East, a proposal rejected by President Donald Trump.

The Pentagon did not disclose the name of the Ohio-class submarine, which is equipped with ballistic missiles. These submarines are known for their ability to remain undetected and constitute an essential component of the American nuclear triad. Although it is not known whether the submarine in Gibraltar is equipped with nuclear weapons, it is known that Ohio-class submarines are capable of carrying nuclear warheads.
