Alphabet, the parent company of Google, has announced that it will raise up to 80 billion dollars through stock sales to support investments in the infrastructure necessary for the development of artificial intelligence. This decision marks a significant change in the company's strategy, which has been a major buyer of its own shares on Wall Street.
The plan includes a 10 billion dollar stock sale to Berkshire Hathaway, which will thus increase its stake in Alphabet to approximately 32 billion dollars. Alphabet has reiterated that it intends to spend up to 190 billion dollars this year on capital investments, with a significant increase in spending projected for 2027. This move is one of the most important investment decisions by Greg Abel since taking over the leadership of Berkshire.
