The contract signed with the German procurement agency calls for A400M aircraft to be equipped with Directed Infrared Counter Measures (DIRCM) technology developed by Elbit Systems. These systems will protect the airplanes from infrared-guided missiles and will be installed in Germany and Spain, to be completed by 2032. This modernization is part of NATO's efforts to improve the security of military flights in high-risk areas.
