The drone was spotted near the airport around 7:30 PM (8:30 PM Romanian time), which prompted air traffic control to immediately halt takeoffs and landings. Operations were resumed after about an hour. The identity of the drone's pilot remains unknown. This is not the first time that German airports have faced such incidents. On Friday, flights were suspended at Berlin-Brandenburg airport due to the presence of drones, and at the beginning of October, Munich airport also experienced similar issues.
German authorities have expressed their concerns regarding the threats posed by drones, sometimes suspecting Russia's involvement in these activities, in the context of regional tensions.
