The French government and Corsican elected representatives have agreed on a draft autonomy to be voted on by the territorial assembly.

The draft agreement provides for the recognition of an autonomous status for Corsica within the French Republic, taking into account the interests linked to its Mediterranean insularity and its historical, linguistic and cultural community. The constitutional text will be put to the Corsican electorate after approval by the Territorial Assembly.
