A projectile of unknown origin struck a second vessel in the Strait of Hormuz, causing a fire on board and forcing the crew to evacuate, according to the British Maritime Agency for Commercial Operations. The ship requested assistance, and the crew evacuation was underway. Previously, the agency reported another attack on a container ship, 25 nautical miles northwest of Ras Al Khaimah, which sustained damage from a suspected projectile.
Although the extent of the damage is unknown, all crew members were safe. The Strait of Hormuz is a strategic maritime point, with approximately 100 vessels passing through daily. In the context of tensions between the USA, Israel, and Iran, the strait has effectively been closed by Iran, which attacked several ships in the early days of the crisis.
