The area around the city of Pisa, located in central Italy, was shaken on Tuesday by an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.3, according to DPA. The quake occurred at 10:15 local time, and its epicenter was located about five kilometers from Pisa, at a depth of eight kilometers.

Authorities reported that numerous people took to the streets, fearing possible damage, but no casualties or material damage were recorded. Hundreds of calls were received at the emergency number 112. Although the city of Pisa is famous for the Leaning Tower, which was not damaged, it remained open to visitors.

Italy, situated at the intersection of the African and Eurasian tectonic plates, frequently experiences earthquakes. Recently, a violent earthquake in Naples injured 26 people, prompting protests for better protection against earthquakes.
