Center 795, an elite unit of the Russian secret services, specialized in espionage and political assassinations abroad, was compromised after the arrest of agent Denis Alimov at El Dorado International Airport in Bogota. Alimov, who coordinated an international network of assassins, used Google Translate to communicate with a Serbian collaborator, which allowed the FBI to intercept his messages. This communication error exposed the unit's plans and its connections with Chechen leaders, demonstrating the vulnerability of a structure designed to operate in the shadows. Additionally, Alimov recruited agents from the Chechen diaspora, offering substantial rewards for kidnapping missions. This situation revealed the weaknesses of a unit that seemed invincible, thus compromising the Kremlin's operations.
