Ahn Hak-sop, captured during the Korean War, spent over 42 years in prison in South Korea for refusing to renounce his political beliefs. Now 95, he yearns to return home to be buried in North Korea. Although he tried to cross the Demilitarized Zone, the South Korean government refused him entry, citing restrictions on unauthorized contact with the North. Ahn, weak and ill, expresses his deep wish to be buried in the country that defined his life.
