A strong earthquake of magnitude 6.7 struck the Sulawesi region of Indonesia on Tuesday, without causing damage or injuries.

A moment magnitude 6.7 earthquake occurred on Tuesday morning in the Sulawesi region of central Indonesia, at a shallow depth, particularly affecting the city of Palu, with approximately 400,000 inhabitants.

According to the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency, the earthquake was strongly felt in Palu and Sigi, but did not generate tsunami risks. A resident of Palu, Nurhaidar, described the moment of the earthquake as a strong shaking, managing to get out of her house together with her children.

Indonesia, located on the "Pacific Ring of Fire", frequently faces seismic activity, and in 2018, a similar earthquake led to the death of 2,200 people in Palu. Authorities have not reported any casualties or material damage following this earthquake.
