On Friday, at 7:58 AM local time, an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.5 on the Richter scale occurred in Mexico, according to the National Seismological Service. The epicenter of the quake was located in the Pacific Ocean, off the coast of Guerrero state, but the effects were felt in various cities, including Mexico City.
President Claudia Sheinbaum had to suspend the daily press conference due to the earthquake. Although the quake was significant, no material damage or loss of human life has been reported so far. The German Research Center for Geosciences estimated the magnitude at 6.3 and mentioned that the movement occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers.
