Vietnamese police have arrested 16 people involved in a network trafficking newborn babies, who were sold for between 400 and 930 dollars.

The trafficking ring recruited women in financial difficulties and persuaded them to sell their babies. The babies were then resold for between 1,400 and 3,000 dollars, after falsified adoption papers. Police launched an investigation into 84 suspected cases of trafficking in newborns.
