Chapter 6: Agenda 2026

According to BAROMETER Informat.ro – INSCOP Research, edition VII, conducted between January 12-15, the top expectations of Romanians for 2026 include increasing incomes, creating jobs, and ending the war in Ukraine.

BAROMETER Informat.ro – INSCOP Research is a monthly opinion poll conducted by INSCOP Research on behalf of the news platform Informat.ro in partnership with the Strategic Thinking Group think tank.

BAROMETER Informat.ro – INSCOP Research aims to bring to the public's attention topics of interest to stimulate national conversations about various subjects and essential public policies for the present and future of Romania, based on the opinions of Romanians in partnership with think tanks and prestigious academic institutions. It is an initiative through which we aim to contribute to the strengthening of democracy by using scientific and credible tools that bring the voice of citizens to the forefront of public debate.

Methodology: Data was collected between January 12-15, 2026. Research method: interview via questionnaire. Data was collected using the CATI method (telephone interviews), with a simple stratified sample volume of 1100 people, representative of significant socio-demographic categories (gender, age, occupation) for the non-institutionalized population of Romania, aged 18 and over. The maximum allowable error of the data is ± 3%, with a confidence level of 95%.

Agenda 2026

When asked what is the most important thing they would like to see accomplished in 2026, 15.6% of respondents mention increasing incomes, 15.6% creating jobs, and 15% ending the war in Ukraine. Choosing stabilizing prices and reducing inflation – 14.7%, combating corruption – 14.5%, and improving the healthcare system – 10.3%. 7.7% indicate improving the education system, 1.6% increasing safety and public order, and 0.7% protecting the environment and combating climate change. 4.2% do not know or do not respond.

Increasing the incomes of the population is especially mentioned by: AUR voters, people with primary education, residents of small urban areas. Creating jobs is indicated mainly by: AUR voters, young people under 30, people with primary education, residents of small urban areas and rural areas. PSD and PNL voters, respectively people over 60, choose ending the war with Ukraine in a higher proportion than the rest of the population. Especially PNL and USR voters, people with higher education, and residents of Bucharest and large urban areas specify combating corruption as a priority for 2026.
