USR parliamentarians, Adrian Wiener and Remus Negoi, have initiated a legislative project that amends Law no. 95/2006 regarding the reform in the field of health, aiming to sanction doctors who disseminate false or contrary to scientific evidence information. According to the new provisions, doctors can be held disciplinarily accountable for disseminating false information that affects public health.

The proposed sanctions include a ban on practicing the profession for a period ranging from one month to one year for the first offense and the withdrawal of membership status from the College of Physicians of Romania for the second offense. The initiators of the project emphasize the alarming increase in cases of misinformation among doctors and believe that this project will act as a "shield for public health."
