The Minister of Health, Alexandru Rogobete, announced the launch of AP-STOMA, a public funding mechanism for dental treatments, which will be implemented in public hospitals in Romania. This initiative was generated by consultations with specialists and the need to develop dental services in the public system, especially after the tragic incident in which a two-year-old girl died following anesthesia. AP-STOMA will allow for the provision of definitive dental treatments, including complex interventions, and will finance medication, materials, medical equipment, analyses, and necessary consumables. The aim of the program is to make dental treatments accessible to all patients, thus eliminating inequalities in access to these essential services.
