Lung cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in Romania, but the majority of cases are detected in advanced stages, with a 5-year survival prognosis of less than 10%. Although spirometry and low-dose computed tomography are effective screening methods, they are not part of a national program. Minimally invasive surgical interventions, such as uniportal thoracic surgery, offer a better chance of recovery, but the accessibility of screening remains a major problem.
