Horatiu Moldovan, the president of the National Health Insurance House (CNAS), stated that the issue of health care insurance provided by family doctors is a persistent concern for over a decade, with an increasingly smaller number of specialists in this field. Although the income of family doctors is competitive compared to other specialties, their average age is high, and many are approaching retirement. Moldovan mentioned that the authorities rely on the support of universities and financial incentives for doctors who choose to practice in isolated areas. Additionally, the involvement of local authorities is crucial for attracting doctors, through support in paying utilities and setting up offices.
