The president of CNAS, Dr. Horatiu Remus Moldovan, stated that this project contravenes current legislation, restricting the rights of cancer patients and imposing a financial barrier to access treatments. Law no. 293/2022 currently regulates the diagnosis and treatment of cancer patients, and the National Cancer Prevention and Control Plan (PNCC) 2023-2030 provides support measures for them. CNAS emphasizes that cancer patients benefit from medical services without co-payment if they have no income, and that the proposed law could destroy the legislative and budgetary progress made. Additionally, CNAS does not support this project, highlighting the importance of maintaining free access to medical services for patients with cancer-related conditions.
