FCSB and Rapid were the most mentioned teams, Becali - the most mentioned personality, and Daniel Bîrligea - the most mentioned footballer in the domestic championship.
About 53,500 articles and posts about sport were published in the relevant monitored sources in the last month, significantly more than those about education (27,300), but slightly less than articles reflecting domestic political debates (63,400).
Among the moments with considerable accumulations of content on sports, August 30 stands out, when FCSB found out, following the Europa League draw, that they would face Manchester United; there was also much commentary in the run-up to the same team's match against LASK Linz. Another event of high interest in terms of online sports content was the Romania vs Lithuania match, covered on both September 9 and 10.

Analyzing the top of the relevant online sources that have produced the most content about sport in the analyzed period, we find that the first position is held equally by the Facebook channels of Gazeta Sporturilor and Sport.ro, followed at a short distance by the website Fanatik.ro and the pages of journalist Horia Ivanovici, respectively the platform Digi Sport - each of them with over 2,000 published materials. A previous analysis covering the Olympic Games period identified the same order for the top three places.

As such, FCSB was one of the most visible public players in sports, with highlights associated with its Europa League run. The owner of Becali has also stood out, particularly in the context of the moment in early September marked by the finalization of Daniel Bîrligea's transfer and his official presentation. Lastly, Rapid was another entity that was intensely discussed, with extra mention in the context of the draw with Universitatea Craiova on August 31.
