Dacia is at the top of the ranking, followed by Banca Transilvania and Google. The top positions reflect very different events: developments in the automotive industry, banking services, and the activity of technology platforms during the week of October 23–29. In the general economic agenda, taxation, the labor market, and investments generate the most extensive conversations

Visibility has different sources

Dacia dominates the week through reports on the brand’s commercial results and the European automobile market. The monitored news includes declining sales in the first nine months of the year, the position of the Sandero model, and competitive pressure on manufacturers. Attention is thus concentrated in a wave of material about product developments and automotive competition, rather than in a succession of unrelated announcements.

Banca Transilvania rises to second place through a different type of exposure. The agreement with PKO Bank Polski to support companies interested in expanding into Poland appears alongside news about lending and financing the economy. The institution is also mentioned in reports about AnimaWings’ insolvency proceedings, as one of the listed creditors. These contexts must be separated: the banking partnership is its own initiative, whereas its presence on the list of creditors reflects a case involving another company.

Google completes the podium in a technological and financial context. The material discusses services such as Wallet, advertising in the search engine, stock-market developments, and investments in artificial intelligence. Compared with the two companies ahead of it, its visibility comes more from reports about digital products and international markets. Such news matters in the Romanian media space even when the event took place outside the country.

Financial results, energy, and retail

Volkswagen is strongly represented by news concerning quarterly losses, financial difficulties, and restructuring plans. In these reports, balance-sheet figures are directly linked to the outlook for employment and the competitiveness of the automotive industry. Hidroelectrica has more dispersed visibility: new offers for electricity consumers, service contracts, and changes in the company’s management appear in distinct editorial contexts.

Microsoft stands out through its financial results, the growth of Azure cloud services, and demand related to artificial intelligence. Unlike Volkswagen, which concentrates attention on a difficult financial episode, the technology company appears in material about revenue, investments, and the transformation of work. However, not all mentions of artificial intelligence represent direct news about Microsoft; the association must be interpreted in the context of the report.

BCR gains visibility through its role in the syndicated financing granted to aluminum producer ALRO. Kaufland and Lidl enter the Top 10 through expansions, offers, and commercial campaigns: the opening of the Kaufland store in Otopeni, the associated promotions, and reports about the anniversary of Lidl’s presence on the Romanian market are examples of this dynamic. In the case of retailers, their own posts and press reports can produce different types of exposure.

Transelectrica rounds out the ranking, being linked to preparations of the energy system for the cold season, electricity transmission infrastructure, and information about the management of energy companies. Unlike retail companies, where commercial communication is visible, the systemic role of the operator and its relationship with the functioning of the sector predominate here.

The general agenda: taxation, labor, and investments

At the level of economic topics, taxation, the budget, and the deficit form the largest category. The labor market and wages follow, ahead of investments and infrastructure, while energy and prices represent another major conversation. The hierarchy does not coincide with the ranking of companies: fiscal decisions, household incomes, and investment projects simultaneously span several sectors, even if they are not associated with a particular company.

Retail and consumption, technology and artificial intelligence, banking services, real estate, and capital markets complete the agenda. Some material legitimately has multiple classifications: a loan intended for a factory may be relevant both to financing and to investment. Therefore, the positions of the topics express the intensity of editorial subjects and not an exclusive division of economic news.

Companies x topics: what explains the differences:

The matrix shows distinct profiles. Dacia and Volkswagen have a pronounced connection with the automotive industry, but their areas of interest differ: sales and model developments in the first case, results and restructuring in the second. Banca Transilvania and BCR focus on financing, while Hidroelectrica and Transelectrica are connected to electricity and infrastructure. Google and Microsoft intersect with technology, but build their visibility through different commercial and financial events.

In retail, Kaufland and Lidl appear both in the context of stores and promotions and in that of investments and employment. This overlap illustrates the difference between a focused sector-specific topic and a cross-cutting presence in the economic conversation. The matrix should be read together with the news that produced the associations, not as an assessment of reputation or financial results. Overall, the week is marked by an automotive leader, a visible banking sector, and numerous reports about international companies in technology and industry. At the same time, concerns about taxation, labor, and investments have a greater scope than any of the corporate episodes. Visibility measures how present a company is in the public conversation, not how successful or appreciated it is.
