The world of sport has been marked by diverse events, ranging from appointments and transfers, to legal conflicts, performances in international competitions and administrative controversies. In soccer, both domestically and internationally, there has been a flurry of moves and strategies that are redrawing the map for the upcoming season. In parallel, tennis provided some spectacular moments in the context of the Roland Garros tournament.

HOME FOOTBALL

  • FCSB/Steaua: The conflict between FCSB and CSA Steaua over the palmares has reignited after the latest decision by the lower court, the Court of Cassation, which rejected the appeal lodged by Gigi Becali's club. The FRF has said that for the time being it will not apply to UEFA and FIFA for the recognition of the palmares in favor of CSA Steaua and awaits the reasoning of the decision.
  • FCSB: Gele, Edjouma and Băluță will be removed from the Liga 1 list and will not travel with the team to the training camp in the Netherlands. The FCSB owner has announced that the three will receive their money as per their contract and will be allowed to leave for other teams.

FOTBAL International

  • Cristian Chivu: Cristian Chivu will sign a two-year contract with Inter Milan on Friday. With the news of Chivu's appointment as coach at Inter, the Italian press is also announcing the first transfers that the Nerazzurri are expected to finalize after the coach's appointment.
  • Nations League: Total spectacle in the Nations League semi-final between Spain and France. Spain win 5-4 to qualify for the final against Portugal.
  • Romania: The Tricolor have arrived in Vienna, where they will face a similar Austria side in a 2026 World Cup qualifier. Head coach Mircea Lucescu has already outlined the starting line-up for Saturday's match, with the most changes from previous matches being in the center midfield.
  • Romania U21: Daniel Pancu has announced the squad for the final tournament at EURO 2025.

Transfers

  • Karlo Muhar: Desired by Gigi Becali at FCSB, Karlo Muhar chose CFR Cluj, who offered him double the salary of the champions.
  • Adrian Mihalcea/UTA: Adrian Mihalcea will be the new "principal" of UTA. Mihalcea did not extend his contract with Unirea Slobozia, a team he managed to keep in the first league.

TENIS

  • Coco Gauff: Coco Gauff qualified for the Roland Garros final after sweeping home in two sets, 6-1/6-2, against grandstand favorite and WTA tournament surprise Lois Boisson. In the final, Coco Gauff will face WTA No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka, who qualified for the last round by defeating Iga Swiatek in three sets, 7-6 (1), 4-6, 6-0.
